New style: Cosmetics Pouch
In preparation for the show, and to increase my product line, I'm working on a new style. It is a cosmetic pouch and will come in all six of the nine colors that I currently offer. I'll be using some of the existing designs that I have for the silkscreen image, such as the lantern, lotus, and bicycle, but I'll also be adding a new design, a butterfly. The bags will be completely lined and have a top zipper. I'm sourcing zippers right now, and should have my sample made by the end of the day tomorrow, so that I can be in production on these by next week!
I'll post pictures as soon as I have them.

yay! look forward to seeing the pictures of your new style. i found your blog through your etsy profile, and i'm interested to hear the perception that a blog could hurt business. i think at least in the DIY community, buyers want to know more about the person they're buying from, because most often when something is handmade, the person who made it is "the brand". People can buy mass produced bags at Old Navy very inexpensively, so it is a concious choice to buy from an individual, and the more you know about them and their process, the more inclined you are to value the product. In that market I'd say a blog is something of a necessity. This appears to be true for mass market designers like Kate Spade and Donna Karan to some extent too? Their styles are knocked off all the time, but there is value in getting "the real thing" because of the person behind it. Just my 2 cents! I love your work and hope to get to the Appel & Frank show to see it in person!
